It’s World Meditation Day…& this means going beyond robes & candles 🧘♀️
Meditation is a science.
It changes your brain.
It shifts your biology.
Because so much of how we move through the world is not always truly us. It is conditioning > inherited beliefs we absorbed as our own. It is the emotional residue of experiences we may never have fully processed, still quietly shaping our decisions, reactions and relationships.
Meditation gave me a way back to the original signal. 💫
Through gratitude practices and deep introspection, I started to see more clearly how many of my choices were shaped by what I thought I should do rather than what actually aligned with my values and truth.
That gap is where a lot of our suffering lives & then there is the ego. The stories. The ones that cast us as the hero, the victim, the defender…always filtered through our own unexamined biases.
Meditation does not silence these stories. What it actually does is that it lets us witness them. and in the witnessing, we start to rewrite them.
Perhaps the most unexpected gift is the staying power. The practise of meditation is hard and the more we persist, the more the staying power comes through in every other aspect of our life.
here are some of my favourite books that helped deepen the practice:
- The Surrender Experiment – Michael Singer
- Stillness Speaks – Eckhart Tolle
- Conversations with God – Neale Donald Walsch
- Radical Forgiveness – Colin Tipping
- Letting Go – David Hawkins
- Stillness is the Key – Ryan Holiday
